Bowmore distillery was one of the first distilleries to receive a licence which meant it leaped into a fully operational distillery in 1779. The founder, William Simson had been distilling in Bowmore since just after his arrival in 1766. A rare malt that was specially released fot the annial Feis ile Festival. First distilled in 1999 it was then transferred into limousine Oak Cask for 8 years before its bottling in 2008. This single malt boasts notes of the classic bowmore smokiness with a hint of fresh cranberries. As a collectors bottle there were only 800 bottle released, individually numbered, making this a rare collectable.
Bowmore Rare Old Style 17 Year Old
This 17 year old Islay single malt was released in the 1990’s and is completed with an iconic screen print label bottling. With a gentle smoky character complete with a long and creamy finish.
This rare malt from the Bowmore distillery was hand filled and distilled in 1999. After maturing in a PX sherry cask for 18 years it was recently bottled in 2017. A delightfully new addition to any collector’s collection.
A gorgeous release from Islay’s oldest distillery. This single malt was matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks with the final 3 years of maturation in sherry casks to give the beautifully rich and warming colour to reflect its finishing notes. This 15 year old single malt gives a rich raisin and gentle smoke flavour with a rich chocolate finish.
Bowmore 20 Year Old Hand-Filled Single Cask
The Bowmore 20 Year Old Hand-Filled Single Cask is a truly special addition to any collection. This single malt is sold exclusively on Islay and is not made for wider distribution. First filled into first-use sherry cask in 1996 it was left to mature for 20 years before being bottled on 2016. This very rare single malt is at a cask strength of 56.2% and incredibly difficult to get hold of.
